Sometimes the best shots are quick snapshots. Samantha wanted a picture with me as I was headed out the door. I think it ended up being very sweet.

We spent 3 hours driving to see something pretty today. It was SO worth it!

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

So we were eating breakfast and Josh was telling me at length about some convoluted plans he had come up with to build an armada of remote control ships. Alice looked over at him, raised her arm, and loudly proclaimed, "Blah, blah, blah, blah." I couldn't have said it better myself!

Josh is now 9 years old

So halfway to 18. Maybe we should start to make plans for his independence...or is it a bit too soon? Perhaps he should learn to multiply first. Certainly an important skill!

This is totally posed. The boy is never this calm. It's always storm clouds or sunshine for Josh.

Looks like he's helping with breakfast. Josh is able to be really helpful, when he remembers.

This is Chirpy. He flew away and found his Mommy and Daddy again. Yes, that's what happened.

Samantha has light and hot pink ponytail holders. Recently she has decided that she loves the pale pink and that the hot pink is "howwible" (horrible.) So the other day as we were discussing pink, a surprisingly common topic with Samantha, she said, "I like cold pink."

Me:    isn't Alice cute
S:    Yes, Alice is cute.
Me:    Is Samantha cute
S:   Yes, Sampa cute, and my grandma cute.
Me:    Is Mommy cute
S:    No....Mommy pretty!

The Family

Josh and I were watching Sleeping Beauty today while Luke and Samantha went to church for the Good Friday Service. Doesn't sound like we were very holy, I know! But Alice is happiest at home and so we are all happiest when she is at home. Anyway, during the movie the three fairies each bless the baby princess with one gift and the first fairie chooses beauty. I asked Josh if he thought that was the best gift to give a someone and if not what he would choose instead. He replied, "engineerity," which is, according to his definition, the ability to make things.
